About Hunt Fish License

Hunt Fish License is a free lookup tool for hunting and fishing license cost, eligibility and deadlines across the US. Pick a state and a residency status and you get a straight answer: what the license costs this season, what it does and doesn't cover, whether a hunter safety course is required, and a direct link to that state's official licensing portal to buy it.

It exists because state wildlife agency sites are often hard to navigate, and the fee a hunter or angler actually needs, resident vs. non-resident, base license vs. the deer or trout add-on, is rarely on the first page you land on. This site pulls that number out and puts it next to the requirements and the buy link, state by state, so you don't have to dig through a state agency's site structure to find it.

The site is free to use, with no login and no paywall. It runs as a static site with no backend, and there's nothing to submit: no forms, no accounts. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, which you can decline via the cookie banner. See the Privacy Policy for details. License fee figures are researched from each state's official wildlife agency and reviewed periodically; because states adjust pricing year to year, always confirm the exact total at checkout on the official portal linked from each state's page before you buy.
